มุศหัฟ, หน้า 592

1. بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا

   But you prefer the worldly life,

   87:16

2. وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ

   While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

   87:17

3. إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ

   Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

   87:18

4. صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ

   The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.

   87:19

5. هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

   Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming (event)?

   88:1

6. وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ

   (Some) faces, that Day, will be humbled,

   88:2

7. عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ

   Working (hard) and exhausted.

   88:3

8. تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً

   They will (enter to) burn in an intensely hot Fire.

   88:4

9. تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ

   They will be given drink from a boiling spring.

   88:5

10. لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ

    For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant

    88:6

11. لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ

    Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.

    88:7

12. وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ

    (Other) faces, that Day, will show pleasure.

    88:8

13. لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ

    With their effort (they are) satisfied

    88:9

14. فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ

    In an elevated garden,

    88:10

15. لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً

    Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech.

    88:11

16. فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ

    Within it is a flowing spring.

    88:12

17. فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ

    Within it are couches raised high

    88:13

18. وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ

    And cups put in place

    88:14

19. وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ

    And cushions lined up

    88:15

20. وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ

    And carpets spread around.

    88:16

21. أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ

    Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?

    88:17

22. وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ

    And at the sky - how it is raised?

    88:18

23. وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ

    And at the mountains - how they are erected?

    88:19

24. وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ

    And at the earth - how it is spread out?

    88:20

25. فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ

    So remind, (O Muhammad); you are only a reminder.

    88:21

26. لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ

    You are not over them a controller.

    88:22

27. إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ

    However, he who turns away and disbelieves -

    88:23

28. فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ

    Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment.

    88:24

29. إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ

    Indeed, to Us is their return.

    88:25

30. ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ

    Then indeed, upon Us is their account.

    88:26
